IceBucketChallenge

Good Evening Mike Valentine, Jason Douthit and Mike Jones,

First off, I want to start by pointing out a phrase that was used in a previous email received, (see highlighted sentence in email below)…

With that out of the way, I am wanting to contribute to the Netsmart Life webpage. Here’s how….ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!!  Continue reading Netsmart Technologies ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. #HelpFightALS

Netsmart Porch Party at the KC Royals game!

Error
This video doesn’t exist

This happened on Friday July 25th when NTST had the Royals party porch rented out for our event. Early in the game, the Indians Carlos Santana hit a homerun that landed right in front of me. Beside me covering her face is my wife, Anni, and Margy Foody (Insight team) is to my left. Mike Jones is also visible to my right next to my wife. Anyway, I missed catching the ball but was able to retrieve it. As I held it up in celebration, the NTST team and other fans collectively yelled, “THROW IT BACK! THROW I BACK!”. In the spirit of team, I obliged and threw it back. I am really happy it didn’t hit Omar Infante on the infield…but it came close! Shortly thereafter my phone started blowing up with Facebook messages of the video, texts, and calls from friends and other NTST team members who couldn’t make the game. All in all, it made for a great story at a really fun event. Looking forward to the next one!

Have you ever applied to a company and never heard back?

Have you every applied for a job you were certain was a perfect fit and you should be a top candidate, only to get a “thanks we hired someone else” email down the road?

There are a number of possible reasons why you didn’t get the interview, let’s make sure that your resume wasn’t one of them!
Your resume is your calling card, it’s typically the first view of your professional offering to the world and it should look fantastic! FIRE

A street reporter spends the vast majority of his time talking about endings. Sure, the language is active – live, breaking, happening now – but he’s really telling you about outcomes. The outcome of an angry ongoing conflict is a headline-grabbing murder. A devastating fire might be the end result of a careless smoker dozing-off one too many times with a red-tipped cigarette dangling from her lips. The crumpled remains of a sports car littering a residential street at two in the morning represent the culmination of a night of drinking combined with youthful hubris. For 23 years, prior to coming to Netsmart, I reported on endings for news radio stations in San Francisco, Kansas City, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Continue reading Upstream

The Engineering Futures Say Goodbye

The software engineering futures accomplished many tasks this summer. Our first tasks were working with full-time engineers on team projects where each Future was a part of a different Netsmart Solution. Although our parts may have seemed small many of the Futures ended up saving a lot of time and money for the company. Then we split into two teams to work on two restful services Fitbit and Twilio. Work Hard, Play Hard… Observations from New Hire Orientation

Doug

I had the pleasure and honor of providing the executive welcome to the new hire start group today. During the dialogue I asked the group how they learned about Netsmart and why they wanted to work at Netsmart. A number of the responses were expected… I have a friend here… I hear it’s a good place to work… I was looking for a company that was growing. One new associate said that Netsmart was recommended to her by a friend who is a Netsmart associate and told “everybody works hard here”. The new associate said that is why she wanted to join Netsmart. I thought it was a great response and reminds me that everybody does work hard here because the work that we do is hard. That’s why we choose to be here. To do work that is hard and to do it well. Here’s to working hard and playing hard!
