This summer, we welcomed 40 FUTURES to the Netsmart family. Each FUTURE had the opportunity to gain insight and real-world experience in many different areas of business including engineering, marketing, consulting, revenue cycle management (RCM), sales, human resources and more. An abundance of hard work paired with good memories made for the perfect summer here at Netsmart. Time sure does fly when you’re having fun!

Recently our FUTURES took the opportunity to use their EveryDayMatters (EDM) volunteer day to grow their awareness of the impact we can make in our community by working in the gardens of our partner, Cornerstones of Care. Cornerstones is a local organization that offers social services including education, behavioral healthcare, foster care, and youth and family support services. The dedicated staff at Cornerstones works day in and day out to provide the best care for families in the community. What better way to support their mission than supporting them to serve others.
Hear from FUTURES Chase Neely, Cade Green, Nick Porsch and Grant Leonard to learn about what EveryDayMatters and being cause connected means to them.

We have a motto here at Netsmart – “expect the unexpected.” Our FUTURES are learning this statement to be true, as every day in the office is unique and different than the next. Their days are exciting, bustling, sometimes surprising, but always rewarding. So, what does a day as a FUTURE look like?
Ivy Stansbury, Graphic Design FUTURE
“I start each day off by grabbing a cup of coffee down in the EDM café with other fellow FUTURES. This has been a way for me to get to know other FUTURES better and learn more about what they are doing here at Netsmart. Once I get back to my desk, I usually start by checking emails and checking in with my mentor and manager to see what needs to be done for the day or for the week.”

Five of our FUTURES went wheels up last week and traveled to the Netsmart Great River office in New York. These associates had the opportunity to work and collaborate with their mentors and managers face-to-face. Sean Waxman, a software engineering FUTURE, expressed how nice it was to be able to meet his mentor in-person instead of relying on Skype. While there was a lot of work completed throughout these two weeks, there was also some fun team building activities and great memories made.

Although every FUTURE has a different story on how they landed at Netsmart, one thing they all have in common is school spirit. Last Friday, the FUTURES sported their favorite college gear and came together to share their experience at Netsmart so far as well as aspirations for the rest of summer and beyond.
Check out what our FUTURES had to say about their universities and why they chose to spend their summer at Netsmart.

Our FUTURES took their internship to new heights last week after completing the Tucker Leadership Lab challenge course at William Jewell College. Founded in 2000, this course presents businesses, schools, churches and sports teams with obstacle course-like challenges designed to build trust, communication and confidence.
