To welcome the 28 new Futures, in true Netsmart fashion, we attended an 80s themed skate party at the nearby Skate City. Although none of the Futures were born in that era, we all busted out our most bodacious outfits. Some of the most outrageous outfits included MC Hammer pants, neon leggings, and even a dudical He-Man costume. All of the Futures, their mentors, managers, and even the executives attended to give us a gnarly welcome.
At Netsmart, we move purposely with passion and intentionality. We focus on using innovative solutions to break down barriers and push the boundaries of the health and human services industry.
Our internship program is dubbed the “FUTURES” because those who participate are an important part of our future. Our program includes a balance between classroom-based and on-the-job learning, hands-on, client based work, professional development opportunities, leadership exposure and several social / networking events throughout the summer. #ntstfutures

Being a part of a company that believes EveryDay Matters and is not just a mantra, is a honor. A street reporter spends the vast majority of his time talking about endings. Sure, the language is active – live, breaking, happening now – but he’s really telling you about outcomes. The outcome of an angry ongoing conflict is a headline-grabbing murder. A devastating fire might be the end result of a careless smoker dozing-off one too many times with a red-tipped cigarette dangling from her lips. The crumpled remains of a sports car littering a residential street at two in the morning represent the culmination of a night of drinking combined with youthful hubris. For 23 years, prior to coming to Netsmart, I reported on endings for news radio stations in San Francisco, Kansas City, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Continue reading Upstream
