The Netsmart Way.

The Netsmart way. There are many things that one could perceive from this statement. Yesterday the Netsmart way was to excite all the futures with a free lunch and also a little behind the scenes learning session with Matthew Arnheiter over the product life cycle. All though we didn’t make it through Matthew’s entire presentation we still learned a lot. We learned how much money is spent by our government and insurance companies (Billions!) but the results don’t come close to their expenses. We also talked about the idea of preventative health, and how much it could reduce many of the expenses if people were being seen by doctors regularly and not just when they feel sick or if something’s wrong.

FUTURES Scavenger Hunt on the Country Club Plaza… KC Style!

One of the most distinguished attributes about working at Netsmart is that everyone genuinely enjoys working together, and collectively everyone has a great time. This is an especially evident in the Futures program. Since the beginning of this one-of a-kind experience, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the other Futures and having the opportunity to work closely with each person.

Netsmart Futures are Becoming Explorers and Adventurists

Today we go from Futures to adventurists and take on the Kansas City Country Club Plaza for an “Instagram Scavenger Hunt.” As one of the social events planned for the summer, we are leaving the office around 2:30 and are on our way to the Plaza with clues in hand. This game will consist of a five team invasion, no speeding tickets, many hilarious pictures posted, and food to follow. I have been at Netsmart almost 3 weeks now, and I have learned it isn’t a true Netsmart event unless there is food or cookies.

More Than an Intern and Not Only a Future–I am an Explorer

During spring semester, when study materials have long past taken over desks and begun to extend their dominion over beds, when group project meetings take precedence over meals, and when laundry has sunk so far down in the priority list that wearing the same shirt three times in one week is the norm, the search and wait for the ideal internship opportunity can cause the volcano of stress to erupt into a full mental breakdown…right before the first midterm.

#NTSTFUTURE In-Training

Hello fellow Netsmartians! My name is Sarah Sauer, and I am a new Delivery Analyst Avatar Future here at Netsmart. This first week of training has been an interesting one, but overall I could not be happier to be here.

I first came upon Netsmart when I was researching employers coming to the Oklahoma State career fair last fall. Being a Nutritional Sciences Pre-Medicine major, there weren’t many options applicable to me. Netsmart, however, caught my eye due to its close relationship with the healthcare field. I researched the company website, and sought out their booth on the day of the event.

Meet Kathryn… 2014 Talent and Culture FUTURE Introduction

Futures_FRONT

Hi everyone! Welcome again to the Netsmart Life Blog! My name is Kathryn MacGregor, and I am the Talent and Culture Intern for the summer. Stay tuned to join us on our 10 week summer adventure of laughs and learning at Netsmart! This summer we welcome several interns as guest writers, to write about each of our events and updates to hear several different perspectives.

We already kicked off our summer with the College Basketball experience last week at the Sprint Center, and will continue with an Instagram scavenger hunt at the Kansas City Country Club Plaza later this week. During the 10 weeks, there are many planned social events, “Lunch-n-Learns,” a volunteer day, and two days of sendoff events at the end of the summer.

FUTURES 2014 Tip Off Event – College Basketball Experience

TIP OFF!!!!

Last night we celebrated the start of our 2014 FUTURES program at the College Basketball Experience. After a warm welcome by our CEO, Mike Valentine, over 100 Netsmartians from departments such as consulting, engineering, hosting, and finance were divided into 10 teams and sent on their way to complete 10 different challenges throughout the evening.

It was a great opportunity for us to get to know our FUTURES as well as introduce them to team members that they normally wouldn’t see on a daily basis as they will work in different departments.

While we are no Basketball champs by any means we still had a lot of fun shooting hoops! The quote of the night by an anonymous VP of Engineering was: You can tell that we are coders around here! 🙂

We are excited to have you here for the summer! WELCOME 2014 FUTURES!!!
